Cotton nightgowns were still as popular as ever with Chloe silk satin especially some of the more romantic styles that her Mistress insisted all the maids wear. Fortunately these cotton nightgowns were making a big comeback. Cotton was after all a beautiful natural fabric to wear next to the skin. There was also something timelessly romantic about a long pure white nightdress, The dazzling white subtly suggesting innocence whilst the semi see-through aspect of the crisp cool fabric seems to say otherwise. The feminine appearance of the fabric adorned with delicate pink or blue ribbons served to enhance this effect all the more. Chloe adored the classic Victorian style white cotton nightgowns with their matching robes. They were all trimmed in delicate feminine satin ribbons some pink and others blue and they smelt delicious too when they had been freshly washed and pressed before the maids had hung them in the closet.
They also felt smooth and crisp yet cosy against the skin as she slipped between the pure white sheets at night cocooned in folds of yummy white linen. The Mistress never allowed any of her employees to keep clothing lingerie or nightwear that was not pristine so Chloe’s wardrobe and lingerie drawers was constantly being restocked with silken delights. She enjoyed retiring early for the evening to strip of her neat work clothes. Then after showering she loved to slip into those pure white crisp cotton nightgowns and matching robes curled up between the sheets with a good book or a nice girlie movie. She especially liked the snug feeling of being covered head to toe in soft crisp cotton, buttoned in at the cuffs and the high Victorian style collar trimmed with delicate ribbon or intricate lace. She adored the way the folds of snowy white fabric cascaded over her body just touching the floor giving an illusion of floating when she walked around.
Life at Hawthorn manor was as near idyllic as it could get and her Mistress doted upon her star employee denying her nothing and Chloe relished every moment. In fact she had never been so happy in her whole life she thought as she snuggled up for yet another cosy evening indoors. She opened the double wardrobe and her gaze fell on the row of pure white cotton nightgowns with matching robes. She ran her fingers over the cool crisp material and as she did so she noticed that the ones at the front of the rail were brand new with the tags still attached. She reached in and unhooked the nearest hanger pressing the soft snowy white cotton to her face reveling in the scent of the brand new garment. She knew as she slipped her arms into the long elegant sleeves that she was going to have a great night in wearing enjoying her cool crisp cotton nightgowns.
